Biogas Plant

Vioenergeiaki Thessalias is a 1,5 MW biogas plant that used to operate its Jenbacher J420 GS gas engine on a competitor oil with an average Oil Drain Interval (ODI) of 1000 operating hours. The company expressed the need to minimize the operating costs associated with the engine and to maximize its productivity.

After running a Mobil services ODI Study, ExxonMobil & authorized distributor Novitron S.A. recommended the use of Mobil Pegasus™ 605 Ultra 40 in order to improve the ODI of the engine and reduce the operating and maintenance costs.

The outcome of the Mobil services program showed that the average Oil Drain Interval of Mobil Pegasus™ 605 Ultra 40 is 1400 operating hours, which translates to a 40% increase vs the competitor oil.

The upgrade to Mobil Pegasus™ 605 Ultra 40 also demonstrated excellent results in terms of equipment protection:

  • Extraordinary Oxidation and Thermal Stability
  • Excellent TBN Retention
  • Superior Deposit Control and Wear Protection

*This Proof of Performance is based on the experience of a single customer. Actual results can vary depending upon the type of equipment used and its maintenance, operating conditions and environment, and any prior lubricant used.
